Most people tend to have a cup of tea while they lay in bed or sit on the couch and read! As a result, I'm going to share a couple books that I currently read while having a cup (or 2!) of tea:
1) The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho - Just finished: Fiction novel about the story of a young shepherd who has a recurring dream and gives up everything to pursue this dream around the world in search of his life purpose. One of the greatest selling books of all time and my personal all-time favorite book. Short read loaded with life lessons, and my go to stocking stuffer/Secret Santa gift as Christmas is coming soon!
2) 1984 by George Orwell - Barely started: I came across an article recently about this concept called the "Social Credit System" that is about to be implemented by the Chinese government in 2020 in which every human interaction and behaviour of all 1.3 billion citizens will be monitored and every citizen will be given a score that constantly changes which impacts ability to access restaurants, applying for certain jobs, travel, etc. I was shocked to find out a lot of my friends had not heard of this before, but compared it to this book. As a result, I just had to get my hands on this!
3) The Everything Store by Brad Stone - About 80% complete: Always been fascinated about Jeff Bezos and the monster that is Amazon ever since I unsuccessfully interviewed for a job at their head office in Seattle about 2 years ago (interview was a full day consisting of 7 one hour interviews!). This book recaps the personal life story of Bezos and his quest to build Amazon into "The Everything Store". Fun fact: type in www.Relentless.com into your internet browser.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the books above, as well as what books you're currently reading while you enjoy your soothing cup of tea!
